Monika Andrew PORAY

Monika's main art concept is 'Geodesia': exploring the geometric complexities that is found in nature and expressing them in an aesthetic language. With her interest with plants and the environment, Monika came to realise a pattern present in nature, and the new concept was born.
The main Geometries that are portrayed in Geodesia are: Golden Mean Ratio, Phi and Fibonacci Sequence, which are reoccurring patterns in nature. Monika expresses visually how these patterns and ratios are evident in nature and re-imitates the sequences to demonstrate how the plants grow and form.
Currently, Monika is intrigued with the human body researching the geometric relevance to the anatomical structure. This is being explored through life drawings, portraying pictorial figures with accuracy and resemblance to the models and investigating the geometric structures along with it.
